Width: 1 to 2 feet
Flower color: red
Bloom time: summer, fall
Light needed: sun, part sun

Notes: In the Mt. Cuba Center pollinator cultivar trials, this monarda was the best one to attract hummingbirds out of the 30 species that were on trial. It is a member of the mint family and it can become aggressive in the right conditions, but it is fairly easy to control. It is one of the most mildew resistant of the monarda cultivars in the US.
