Description
Trumpet vine
Campsis radicans
Perennial woody native vine
Height: 30 to 40 feet
Width: 4 to 10 feet
Flower color: yellow
Bloom time: summer
Light needed: sun, part sun but it will not flower as well in partial shade
Soil needed: easily grown in a wide variety of soils
Notes: Attracts bees and songbirds, and hummingbirds love it! It is an aggressive spreader due to its underground suckers and large numbers of seeds and will grow into large colonies which will choke out all other plants. To keep it in check, plant it near concrete or an area that you can mow. And vines must be grown on sturdy structures because mature plants produce considerable weight.
Deer and rabbits love eating the leaves
